The last thing I needed whilst researching for this book was a knock on the door, and the police barging in to take me away for the crime of experimenting with my own mind. This is the last thing anyone needs.

That a third party dictates what I can and cannot put into my own body (which I own), and determines how I can and cannot explore my own consciousness (which I own), surely raises the must fundamental questions regarding human rights.

However, despite this principled position, it would be hugely irresponsible to ask for trouble by openly breaking the law, or at least, by not taking all necessary steps to reduce the prospect of such difficulty.
