Textbook Definition: Stimulants increase or improve mental and/or physical function, often in a pleasure enhancing manner. Manifestations of this can include alertness, wakefulness, focus, and apparent increased energy.

The following botanicals have been sampled and researched for inclusion within this section:

Most people are aware, via consumption of tea and coffee, that some botanicals can produce stimulation. A smaller number understand that cocaine is derived from the coca plant. However, whilst these are the standard bearers in terms of public perception, they barely scratch the surface.

Each individual stimulant comes with its own character, and many have a rich heritage in terms of cultural and historical use. A number are multi-faceted, inducing a variety of psychoactive effects.

Whilst these were not the easiest of materials to source and experience, they were certainly worth the effort.
